![]() It’s just as abusive to be beaten over the head with protestations of how bad of a person you are as it is to be ignored. Like, I’ve been on the receiving end of that and it’s hell. ![]() ![]() I own my shit but then wondered how do AP’s get held accountable for their stuff? I realize my comments in the thread may have been derailing because I wanted to draw attention to the APs behavior. People were commenting that she should keep texting. The AP then proceeds to tell the thread about more texts they sent almost in real time. It was obvious from the post and the AP’s description of their behavior that the AP was spiraling, sending mass texts, protest behavior and the DA ghosted after. ![]() I got a warning on one AT post of an AP looking for support after a break up with a DA. while other styles get their backs rubbed and get spoken about with warm and fuzzy words, lots of encouragement, and endless “How to fix my DA” videos and posts. ![]() ![]() ![]() Discuss, in particular, Nathan's sermon after Ariel's death? The title comes from a description of Isaiah Thomas as being stricken with “the gentlest of infirmities, bibliomania.” This is the “gentle madness” Nicholas Basbanes writes about in this thick, delightful book you just don’t want to end because of the interesting stories of bibliomanes. On the eve of turning thirty, terrified of being funneled into a life he didn’t choose, Jedidiah Jenkins quit his dream job and spent sixteen months cycling from Oregon to Patagonia. “With winning candor, Jedidiah Jenkins takes us with him as he bicycles across two continents and delves deeply into his own beautiful heart.” - Cheryl Strayed, author of Wild and Tiny Beautiful Things. ![]() ![]() The beings landed in six Zones across the planet, stayed for only two days, and then left, without making any contact with humanity. It’s a bit daunting to write a blog post about a book that is widely regarded as one of the greatest science fiction novels of all time, and deservedly so: what can I add to the discussion that hasn’t already been said? I won’t presume to add new insight about the book, but will simply share those thoughts that occurred to me while reading. The next natural choice was the classic 1972 novel Roadside Picnic, by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky. Ever since I read Dmitry Glukhovsky’s sublime 2005 novel Metro 2033, I’ve been interested in reading more Russian science fiction. ![]() ![]() ![]() “I absolutely loved The Black Witch… Maximum suspense, unusual magic ? a whole new, thrilling approach to fantasy!” ? ![]() ![]() So he set out on a journey – a journey to experience as much as he could in the horse world. After a personal setback and an injury, he found himself at the age of 26 living with his parents, unsure what to do with his life. But he apparently did not have a more special connection to horses than most people. Tik did grow up on a horse farm and was headed for successful career as a professional rider. He is the quintessential “natural horseman.” In fact, he is so good at it that I assumed he was born with an innate ability to understand horses and probably has had a magical effect on horses since he was a child. I have seen Tik teach and witnessed him transform nervous, high-headed horses into relaxed puppy dogs that follow him around licking and chewing, within the span of 15 minutes. He tells the story of his multi-year quest to define his place in the world of professional riding and training. ![]() Tik Maynard’s memoir, In the Middle are the Horsemen, is a humble, endearing book, just like the man himself. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Allí fue donde desarrolló su estilo característico, compuesto de colores de fuerte contraste.
